Use Art Supplies to Remember Someone Special

If you want to remember someone who has passed away then you can immortalise them through art supplies.

Painting a picture of a deceased loved one is a great way to honour their memory and if you put it in a prominent place it can also act as a constant reminder of your happy relationship together.

Using art supplies to paint a loved one can also be a therapeutic experience as the process of painting is very calming and can enable you to work through any emotions you may be feeling.

There are many examples of artists immortalising their friends and family through paintings or sculptures as a way of paying their respects to the person and their relationship.

Contemporary photorealist artist Sarah Graham recently revealed that she created an Alice in Wonderland painting in honour of her best friend who died after a long battle with illness.

The Hitchin-born painter told her Facebook fans that her Alice in Wonderland represented her close friend Lisa Sabine who died in early October last year aged just 41.

She said: "She touched my life so deeply, her piercing blue eyes, and blonde hair always reminded me of Alice. It was also the last painting Lisa saw in my studio. It's you darling, may you dream forever more in your Wonderland."

The Royal Derby Hospital has used art supplies in a more unusual way to encourage more people to join the national Organ Donor Register with a unique sculpture called Life Lines.

Life Lines is a massive sculpture that hangs from the ceiling of the institution and is made up of lots of intertwining metal strands which is supposed to represent a cloud with a silver lining.

Susie MacMurray, Life Lines' creator, said: "Life Lines will be a silver cloud, full of connecting intertwining lines. A reflection of how our paths intersect and cross, that we are all part of a larger whole."

If you want to create a fitting tribute to a loved one then it is important that you buy the right art supplies as the quality of the materials you use will impact on the outcome of your painting or sculpture.

Those on a budget can get good quality art supplies over the internet for an affordable price as online retailers often use their websites to publicise exclusive deals on materials such as paints, brushes and easels.
